Despite embarking on their first-ever continental campaign, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Missing key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a comfortable result that all but guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another victory in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct entry to the last 16, particularly after a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Moment
This match provided a chance for some of Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second consecutive succession.
The Shelbourne side that had finished their league season proved no match against a largely rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were further weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly took control. A slick move in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, allowed Nketiah to set up Uche for a simple tap-in.
Midfielder Adam Wharton came close soon after, fizzing a powerful shot over the bar. Nketiah then appealed for a penalty after racing into the area, but the official waved away the protests.
The formerArsenal striker didn't need to wait long to find his goal, prodding home from close range after Uche's shot had struck the post.
The home side were hanging on for dear life. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to avoid a booking for a couple of agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the crossbar with a header from a corner.

The match was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
